There hasn’t been a true revolution in physics for a long time. For one the experimental apparatus and infrastructure required to prove the predictions of already established theory are some of mankind’s greatest engineering achievements. To name a few the Large Hadron Collider at the CERN which proved the existence of the Higgs field. Another is LIGO, the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory, which observed the ripples in spacetime from the gravitational waves caused by a pair of colliding neutron stars billions of light years away.
But a revolution is coming as again and again I see the same look of panic in physicists eyes as once held assumptions are shattered. Usually to the chorus of “Well, we weren’t expecting that”. The discovery that Hubble’s constant is not so constant is one example. Another but more pertinent example being the possible discovery of the X17 particle, what some have coined “The fifth fundamental force of nature” has really caught the attention of the global physics community.
“There was no annihilation of matter and antimatter because the two never met. In fact the material only becomes matter when it is actually ejected from the north pole. And vice versa, the ejected material only becomes antimatter when it is actually ejected from the south pole. The actual material that falls in from the accretion disc could technically be described as photons because the plane of the disc is orthogonal to the direction of the jet.” is my quote from earlier that echoes again and again in my mind now.
The production of an electron and a positron is a prime example of the pattern of behaviour that I am describing where each travels in polar opposite directions along an axis as defined by the Higgs mechanism. For a hypernova, on the next scale up, it is the production of a pair of astrophysical jets travelling along an axis defined by the rotation of the exploding star as it goes nova. Following the same logic that self-similar patterns are invariant to scale, then on the next scale up, I describe it by way of the Big Bang Hypernova Hypothesis.
So an easy question to ask becomes “What happens when the angle between the two particles, or jets, is not 180 degrees?”. Well I now have experimental evidence in the form of the X17 particle. But my line of thinking hasn’t changed because in the eye witness descriptions coming from the Phoenix Lights and US Navy close encounter descriptions I have been toying with the idea of producing our own quantum fields. A common description being of what sounded like some kind of force field either surrounding the various craft or existing between the saucer craft themselves.
The idea is beautifully simple in that if we know exactly how and why quantum fields, such as the electromagnetic and Higgs fields, came into being in the first place then we can try and reproduce that same mechanism to create our own fields. The argument I have just presented is a step along the path to exactly how and why quantum fields arise. The discovery and details of the X17 particle experiment is another step along that same path.
